So, this post is gonna be in English, because first - I’m too lazy to switch the keyboard to work in Latvian, and second, I’m a fanfiction writer (plus hoping to write a book series in English some day) and consume all my media in English, so it’s easier to be diverse in my topics. Plus I think everyone here should probably know the language pretty well… :smiley:

So, hello everyone! I’m Evija, currently 25 (turning 26 in the summer), I’m a demisexual gamer, weeb, yaoi and yuri connoisseur (because boys and girls…pretty…), author of good and bad fanfictions, music fan (I listen to everything if it gives me a good vibe - my playlist contains OST’s from games, movies, anime, Musical Theater, Opera, Rock, j-pop, Pop, Latvian music, and anything that catches my attention.

I’m pretty shy irl, and it takes me a while to trust new people, since I’ve been manipulated by people in the past that I used to trust the most, but when I feel trusting, I’m a pretty big yapper, and if we share the same interests, I will talk your ear off.

Hoping to make some friends to game together with, I play a lot of games, favorites and most played off the top of my head are Honkai Star Rail, Genshin ( but have dropped it for a bit, Natlan is not eating, as the kids say) Infinity Nikki, Fortnite (I exclusively play with the Miku skin currently), Strinova (haven’t seen anyone talk about the game on this forum yet, it’s really good), Hades, Persona , any pretty gacha game, JRPGS, farming games or anything that takes my interest.

Would also hope to make friends irl, to go on walks, shopping or to just chill with junk food and game. Currently I usually get my paycheck, deal with the bills and spend it all on weeb shit for myself.

Also, since BBNO$ is coming to Latvia in I think May, would be cool to have someone to go with. Also, if you like cosplay, I need people to cosplay together with, I have huge stage fright, but not when I don’t play as myself. I have performed in Unicon two times with my ex-friend, but those are so cringe I want a do over.

I started writing on fanfiction.net like 10 years ago, my profile is still up, just to go back and cringe at it and to see how much I have grown over the years, currently write on Ao3, with pretty good reception, my most read fic has like almost 40K reads, I am working on a fantasy series (most likely 3 books, still in the character creation/pinterest board making stage tho) I do have a poem published in a collection from highschool, like 7th grade, but it was ass.

what inspired you to start or what drawed to start? i never have imagined myself be to writter i mean it takes out of you to much brainpower. Usually with good stories you feel bitter sweet and can feel writer has given soul into.

Imo, really fun! Currently am a Fragrans main, tho I am kinda sad there are only 3 male characters and I don’t like any of their gameplay. There is a new agent coming out soon with the new season, and new game modes, haven’t tried ranked (too much of a pussy/scared of the toxicity). Mostly play team deathmatch, not really a pro, but have earned MVP quite a few times (and I main a support, mostly because of how the gun feels)

Oh damn, a writer. I used to write quite a bit about ten years back. A lot of it unfortunately is very cringe now that I look back on it.

I have loved reading ever since I was little, I Iived in the small library when I was living with my grandma in the country. As I grew older and got into fandoms and ships, I loved reading fics, but sometimes I would be searching for something specific, and when there was nothing, I just decided - fine, I’ll do it myself. Sometimes a good prompt pops out somewhere online that fits a ship I like and I bring it to life. I also have this thing when I listen to music and certain songs become like fantasies in my head, almost like OST. One fic just popped into my mind based on the vibe and lyrics of an Ellie Golding song, sometimes songs feel like a scene, like a cover/ tiktok slowed version of Spice Girls Wannabe became a sensual lingerie fashion show scene (the shit my brain thinks of). Also, the reason why I want to write my own original book series, is because I have seen the shit that is popular on booktok - all the rape, ‘dark romance’, gross smut (I write smut myself, but the things ‘booktok girlies’ like is vile) and all the fantasy is just ass, I want to make a cool fantasy series, with good romance, good smut, and good action and fantasy.

Man, I get it. The tiktok famous romantasy is usually the either the “too weird” kind of freaky, lacking in something, or the writer is too in love with their own main character and can’t make them feel any real consequences.
Do you only write yaoi/yuri pairings? Also out of curiosity, what work is your most popular fanfic based on?

I’m really open to writing for any relationship. I have written for mlm, wlw, and straight couples before, but lgbt ones kinda have like the edge of forbidden romance and most of the ships just have a great chemistry.

As long as characters in a media have good chemistry, I’ll write a fic, its just too bad I have not really found a lot of straight ships that I enjoy. The last ones I think about are Bishamon/Kazuha and Yato/Hiyori from Noragami. And I like a few romance anime pairings, but I don’t really write for those, since they kinda have canon moments, I write fics for pairings that should have their cute lovey-dovey moments, but didn’t. The series I’m hoping will also be book 1 - mlm, book 2 - wlm, book 3 - wlw.

It’s actually kinda ironic, but the first fics I read were for straight couples - Robin/Starfire from Teen Titans and Danny/Sam from Danny Phantom. My first ever fic was for Shizaya from Durarara, then I moved to K project, then had a break and then came Genshin. I just checked, and I think my most read fic ever is actually my second Shizaya fic on fanfiction dot net, a shitty office romance AU, where I put a limit to at least 1k words per chapter, but my current era most read is for Zhongli/Childe from Genshin, and my limit nowadays is at least 3k words per chapter, since I’m training for a real book, and they usually have like 5k words per chapter usually.

I mean, character creation is the most important step, and it’s very much the step I always failed miserably when I tried to put the hodgepodge of ideas in my head on paper. All the characters act the same, yet are very much walking clishes. And the world building is just step above your avarage isekai. Arguably my most consistent was my superhero universe, and even that’s because it was just The boys crossed with Bungo stray dogs.

I just recently got really into his music, mostly because he kept popping up on my tiktok, then he started doing cosplays and when he did the Jayvik stream I checked out more of his music, and I really like it, and him as a person. I had heard of his music before, but didn’t know who he was, but for the past few weeks I’ve really been enjoying his new songs, been catching myself just randomly singing Antidepressants.

Nah, haven’t gotten the chance to go to live opera or ballet, but would love to some day. The dream would be to see Phantom of the Opera live, but since it got retired in USA, there is no single reason I would go there.

Both times I did a duo with my ex-friend, the first one was Yata and Saruhiko at Wintercon, I think it was the year where we got Wintercon for 2 days for the first time ever, it was not in Kipsala, and there was not a lot of space. Second time was Shizuo and Izaya, but the costumes were based on like a chess themed official art, and that was l think Unicon 2017. Both performances are still on Youtube, not by the official account, and are so cringe, when I show them to other people I have to close my eyes and plug my ears.

I would love to perform more, but its hard to think of a character who I can actually cosplay, can make or buy their costume, and can make an interesting performance, since I don’t want to just walk around the stage, I want it to be entertaining, but it is kind of hard to be creative when the solo performance time is limited to just 1 min in Unicon…basically I really like to perform plays, have liked it since I was very little, even got a lead role in kindergarten. When I have to perform as myself - presentations at school, work, etc, I have huge stage fright, but when I perform as someone else, get into character, I love it. Also helps that stage lights are usually so fucking bright I can’t see past maybe the first row of people :sweat_smile:
