I think for a lot of us it was Pokemon, but that was when we didn’t even know what anime was. The first anime, that I know was anime and I seeked out anime was DNAngel, I think I saw a clip of it in a Youtube edit, thought the dark angel dude was cute and then went to watch it, it was pretty good, but I think I never even finished it. The first one I actually finished was Durarara.
With Natlan, I just think the story is not it, I loved the stories for all the other regions, the Archon is boring, and her outfit doesn’t make sense, and the Natlan exploring mechanics just don’t make sense. I started Genshin because it was like your classic fantasy - knights and gods and mythology, and even with the mechs in Fontaine it felt like it belonged. But Natlan suddenly has motorcycles, DJ tables, and modern garbage. I also saw spoilers about the last part of the Natlan Archon Quest and what they did with Capitano, and even though he was not like my favorite character, it sucks what they did to him. It would have been interesting if the story had any stakes, like sacrifice an Archon, but of course, since Simps would riot, they had to get rid of the dude and the day was saved with the power of friendship. Also, a nation based on African culture, with music in Swahili, and not a single drop of melanin anywhere. The music always eats, so that is the only thing I like about Natlan. And the Nightsoul things work like 2 seconds in other regions, which suck ass. I hope it will get better when Snezhnaya is coming closer, but for now I dropped it, kinda also have burnout, since I played almost every day and I was a 1.0 player.
And the thing is, all nations, even if they were bad or the story was lacking always had a good ship with great chemistry - Mondstadt had JeanLisa, EulaAmber; Liyue had Zhongchi and Beiguang, Inazuma had Eimiko, Thomato; Sumeru had Haikaveh, Cynari, Candehya and Dehya x the NPC lady she served (don’t remember her name), Fontaine had Clorvia and Wriolette, but Natlan has nothing. No popular ship to get the fandom excited.

It’s supposed to be South America more than Africa, though. You can tell from the environment/architecture, it’s more the Inca people and the like. Hell, there’s literal llamas all over the place.
I do agree that it feels extremely out of place in the world due to all the weird modern stuff they suddenly added in. Fontaine tech feels genre-appropriate, Natlan just feels like it’s taken from a different game, especially with most of the playable character designs (looking at you Kinich) a lot of this feels like it comes from Honkai/Zenless rather than Genshin. Funnily enough the NPCs actually do look like they belong.

Archon nav nekādas vainas. Vienīgais piekrītu par to motociklu, ka tas ir nevietā, nekur tādu nav pasaulē, un Mavuikai uzrodas transportlīdzeklis kā motocikls kā no citas dimensijas.
Story un exploration man patīk Natlan tāpat kā patika visur citur.

Kinda expected a bit more from the nation of WAR, at least more than the power of friendship. I did have moments where I cried in the story, but the ending was not for me. Didn’t really connect with any character, plus, since I play with English dub (Support The VA industry!!! and fuck AI), it sucks when like only 2 characters have voices and the others are mute.
Currently, Honkai Star Rail is giving me the vibes I wanted from Genshin, the new planet and story is amazing!!! Before I was a weeb and loved everything Japanese, I adored Greek Mythology so seeing two of my loved themes mixed together is perfect. Plus HSR is just more generous than Genshin, what I can’t stand is when I randomly decided to get a new character or build a new one, the fact that domains are time gated just makes me not even touch that shit, in HSR all domains are open all the time, and it’s easy to farm for upcoming characters, since they have the ingame tool that shows the materials needed and recommended builds. Also, if I don’t use my stamina, it goes into overflow and caps at like over 2k, so I don’t lose as much, not like with Genshin, I get just a few mats and the resin is gone…

Par to kaut ko dzirdēju, ka tur eng voice aktieri streiko vai tml. un nav kaut ko ieskaņojuši. Nezinu, es japāņu valodā spēlēju, tā ka par eng vienalga kaut kā :D
The strike is because the contract the studio wants is to be able to use their voices to train AI, pay them less. They are currently changing studio, so hopefully the voices will return soon. I do play in Japanese sometimes, but its easier to play in English when I’m too lazy to read…

I too rather play in Jap because the gaps in voicelines are a little too distracting.
At least the sunny side is Hoyo has not replaced any of actors yet.

Yes, one of the closets is purely for my lgbt stuff, will expand it more, not a lot of good yuri series I have found, very open to recommendations. My PC setup is pretty trash at the moment, but with the help of my brother-in-law, it’s very slowly coming together, but he is kind of tired of me pestering him about playing Strinova and Fortnite with me, since he has a kid and a family and you know…a life…
