So I thought I would give it a try here since there is probably some people here with IT-flair and coding knowledge.
So right now our online presence is lacking behind compared to our physical store. There is various reasons for this including lack of SEO, lack of blog content in Latvian, a bit messy layout, lack of proper organisation of categories and various other issues.
I normally try to fix some of these things myself but I realize that I just don’t have the time to do it properly. So I am looking for someone that can take over this part of the job with keeping the website nice and smooth and do a bit of SEO and help with other digital projects that will increase our digital footprint.
Requirements for the candidate:
Coding knowledge (Lot of things hardcoded)
SEO knowledge (or willing to learn)
Preferably experience with Shopify
General flair for learning new programs
It’s a part time job hours are flexible but expected around 20 hours a month.
Work from home and independently.
salary negotiable but expected 15-20€/hr +commision for online sales.
Hope some of you fit the profile and are interested
Sure thing, I could help out. Sounds really interesting and like a good experience. I know 3 other small online store owners I could potentially help out with this kind of experience. I definitely see a market for this kind of work.
Funny thing is that I almost got into a SEO bootcamp the other week. I was interested to see how the big companies do it. I think they did not believe me that I would really accept job or internship position after the free bootcamp. :D Selection was quite crazy as well they had 300+ applicants and only 12 spots.
Dan (@AniimeSan) - if you need help with blog article making, let me know.
While working for “Delfi” as project manager, I was also writing articles for the recipe projects (and still am occasionally) and the Nintendo project. Can send you couple of examples I have made before - but would be really fun for me to write about different topics (especially related to promoting anime & manga in Latvia in general, that can appeal to a bigger audience not only to die hard fans. Perhaps my connections to embassies and media channels might help as well). Also - will be working fulltime with students and young adults nowadays (foreigners included), so great demographic for any kind of interviews if necessary.
I can definitely write a few articles free of charge and then you can see if you like it or not - perhaps you had specific themes you wanted to cover, product groups, events etc. Later on, these blog posts could be used in any promotional materials if you wanted to approach a Latvian media channel.
So let me know if this would be of any interest to you as well.
Sounds good would love to have you as part of the team. And as mentioned your workload and how your organize it doing the month is pretty much up to you so it wouldn’t interfer with your other stuff. I will write you in the evening on whatsapp then we can just go over some details.
This would be a huge help as well. I did launch the blog project some months ago. But I ended up with only candidates who wasn’t really up for the job. They more in the world of “picture blogging”. So had to put it on standby after that due to time. So we can go over my ideas for the whole blogging thing later this week
Speaking of the webpage, as a user I would like if the figurine drop down selection included a bit narrower selection, as right now the “Other” section is very broad. Maybe it’s would be beneficial to add a dedicated acrylic stand selection, or another budget friendly category like pop up parade. Also, the 18+ section seems kinda unnecessary
Exactly these are all issues that we need to fix to make things easier to navigate. So it is also important with input like yours so we know what the end users prefer.
The website has just been downprioritized (due to lack of time) seeing majority of sales come from the physical store. But now winter is under way so now is the time to fix all the problems to make it look better and more convenient to use for the customers.
While it’s true that people look on pictures to get the gist of the idea, it’s also very true, that people like to read upon certain things to get the whole story.
Of course - feel free to get in touch with me or I can stop by the shop (if you are in Riga). Should I send my phone number to you? Or I can write to you later this week, as I have your number.
